As for his weight, we were on the money-14 lbs! We guessed between 13-14 pounds. He's hefty! And his height, 24 1/2 inches long; he's in the 95th percentile for both! He's so long that his 3-6 sleep-n-plays are almost too short. When he stretches, his toes are tight against the seam in the feet. He's a biggin' as Heath says!
He did very well with the shots, too. Typically at our clinic, there would be two nurses to give the shots at the same time. Unfortunately, they were short nurses (we waited for 45 minutes between the doctor leaving and the nurse arriving to give the shots) so he got 'em one at a time. I, of course, didn't watch. I sat in the chair while Heath stood over him. The nurse said Heath could rescue him as soon as she got the band-aids on. The first one was in the right leg. Heath said he had a delayed cry-about 2 seconds. He thinks it shocked him. With the second, his cry went up an octave-no lie. As soon as Heath picked him up, I popped a bottle in his mouth (thank you, Keisha) and his tears slowed to a stop within 20 seconds. After a minute or two on the bottle, we got him dressed and took him home. No problems since! I hope the next round goes so smoothly!
He looks so long in that pix. Shayne was always in the 90th percentile. we are getting excited about visiting!!
